How would you do the underbelly gun turret?

BEST option would have been the entire laser creation system inside and the beam channeled through mirrors or magnetic confinement tubes to shoot through a small optic module. Meaning the entire gun inside the hull and the laser or plasma blast exiring by a small external shaf device.

Your problems with the dispenser moving are due to using the wrong size tape roll. If you use a larger roll, when you pull the tape, you pull the tape down off the top of the roll - increasing friction on the work surface. With a smaller roll, you pull the tape UP (you can see this in your video) - actually lifting the tape dispenser off the work surface. I have this dispenser and have never experienced this problem.

It’s a very neat idea. I wonder if we can somehow make the entire thing 3d printed so you don’t need to get custom metal rods? Using friction or structures that prohibit sliding off the base. My lab has multiple Kapton tape dispensers; their base is weighed down with sand i think. So that can be an option too. My guess is that the serrated blade is for keeping the tape in tension. It’s not necessary seeing that your design works fine without it but it looks neat(?). When I’m free I’ll try out your design and report back. Thank you for putting the blue print out. Again, great design my dude!
